Sustainable Fairfield Students

Sustainable Fairfield Students logo

The mission of the Sustainable Fairfield Students is to encourage community action to put Town of Fairfield on a more sustainable path, especially at the youth level.

Achievements:

  • Spoke in front of the environmental committee in the CT Capitol at Hartford (March 2020) on the topic of various environmental bills.
  • Organized and partook in various clean-ups.
  • Raised money for the National Forests Foundation
  • Partnered with other sustainable initiatives (Eco Evolution, BD Provisions)
  • Interviewed Dr. Lauren Pischel of Yale onClaime Change’s effect on health
  • Advocated for local projects in front of the board of selectmen for school solar panels
  • Volunteered and helped plan the Green Wheels Expo and Earth Day concerts
  • Organized environmental movie nights amoung the group
  • Made a PSA on voting for hte 2020 US Election
  • and we are working on planning more clean-ups for Spring and local food rescues here in Fairifeld in a bid to partake in food sustainability.
