With Karin Layton, Fairfield Forestry Committee member and former classroom teacher.

Welcome Fellow Earthlings! My name is Karin Layton. I am a happily retired career teacher (20 years in both public and private schools) in CT and FL.  As a classroom teacher, I strived to incorporate my interests in art and music.  As a volunteer with the Junior League, my committee and I were awarded funding to place environmental education resources into Fairfield Public libraries – books, songs and movies for children.  As PTO presidents in Quito, Ecuador, my husband and I started the first Earth Day Celebration there and raised funds for an Environmental Endowment.  As a mother and wife, our family has participated in beach clean ups, gardened and recycled.

My post retirement volunteer work includes being trained as a Naturalist at the Connecticut Audubon Society and participating on the Town of Fairfield Forestry Committee.  I was born and raised in Connecticut – my soul is in the soil and the L.I. Sound – I would be happy to connect with you! You can connect with me via the Fairfield Forestry Committee at Forestry@FairfieldCT.org.
